How much fat loss can be expected from red light therapy ?
The amount of fat loss that can be achieved through red light therapy depends on several factors. These include your activity level, alcohol intake, and diet. However, studies have shown that red light therapy can be effective in reducing body fat.
For professionals in spa/office treatments, it is not uncommon to see a loss of one to two inches in the first hour when protocol is followed. This protocol includes increasing water intake, eating primarily low-fat, low-carb foods, and refraining from drinking alcohol for 24 hours before and after the treatment.
If you are using a portable treatment wrap and red light therapy at home, you can expect a similar effect at a slightly slower rate. This is because fewer areas can be treated in a session using our wrap as compared to a professional, where the entire body can be treated in just an hour.
While the exact amount of fat loss you can expect from red light therapy will depend on your individual circumstances, several studies have shown promising results. For example, a 2013 study published in the International Journal of Endocrinology found that red light therapy was effective in reducing waist circumference, hip circumference, and body mass index (BMI) in overweight and obese participants.
Another study published in the Journal of Obesity Surgery in 2018 found that red light therapy was effective in reducing abdominal fat and waist circumference in postmenopausal women.
